Local leaders explore Campbellfield

On Thursday 20 January 2022, Lort Smith Campbellfield welcomed Hume City Council’s CEO Sheena Frost and Mayor Cr Carly Moore to our brand new centre.

Both were visibly impressed by the fear-free environment and best-practice model the custom-built centre is designed around.

Key members of the Campbellfield team led the tour that started in the waiting room (our guests were intrigued by the private pods!), moved through the vet clinic and surgery areas and then on to the adoption centre where there were plenty of kittens to cuddle.

Two of our pet therapy teams added another layer of canine charm to the day and to complete the circle of fun, a few lucky children were invited to join this very special event. And the animals loved their attention too!

The tour ended in our custom-designed community dog park where we treated our visitors to ice cream and juice and watched the therapy dogs and a few of their furry friends play in the sunshine.

We look forward to growing and developing our community connections, and to working more closely with our friends at Hume City Council.

“Lort Smith Campbellfield is a very impressive centre. The fresh and considered design clearly echoes the value of the human-animal bond that is shared between so many people and their pets in our community,” – Sheena Frost, Hume City Council CEO.
