Hi everyone, my name is Bastian & Pippa

Bastian and Pippa are a bonded pair of senior Italian Greyhounds who have spent their whole lives side by side. They are best friends in the truest sense, always together, always looking out for one another, and happiest when they’re curled up together in a warm, soft bed or nestled into your lap for cuddles.

These two gentle seniors have a calm, sweet nature and an easy affection that’s impossible to resist. They adore being close to their humans and will happily spend the day snoozing nearby, keeping you company with quiet loyalty. Both Bastian and Pippa are wonderfully affectionate, delighting in soft blankets, gentle pats, and long, cozy naps in sunny spots.

Together, they strike the perfect balance of peaceful, loving, and deeply bonded. They move through life gently and are a joy to have around.

They’re ideally looking for a calm, stable home with someone who understands the unique needs of the Italian Greyhound breed. Their new person will know that these delicate little dogs thrive on routine, warmth, and companionship and that their sensitivity is part of what makes them so special. A home with limited stairs, no young children, and lots of soft places to rest would suit them perfectly.

Both Bastian and Pippa are house-trained, well-behaved and have recently had a full veterinary check-up and dental procedures. Like many dogs their age, they benefit from a simple, predictable routine and a little extra care, but they are in good health for seniors and continue to enjoy gentle walks, quiet time in the yard, and of course, lots of love.

These two don’t ask for much, just each other, a soft place to land, and a kind human who sees the beauty in older dogs and knows that the best kind of companionship often comes with grey muzzles and gentle hearts.

Given their size and fragility, they would be best suited in a home as the only dogs or potentially with another senior Italian Greyhound.

If you know and love Italian Greyhounds and have room in your heart for a bonded pair of sweet seniors, Bastian and Pippa would love to meet you.

Adopting an animal

Adopting an animal is a rewarding experience that will last a lifetime. But before you adopt a pet please take some time to consider the commitment you are about to make. Sometimes the excitement of pet ownership can overshadow factors that should be considered before adoption.

Adopting a shelter pet is a lifelong decision that will have a major impact to your normal, everyday life. Please remember that a cat or dog can live for up to 20 years and they will rely only on you for their wellbeing for their entire life.

  • Do I have time to exercise the dog every day?
  • Do I have time for puppy pre-school and time to socialise a puppy?
  • Do I have at least an hour every day to spend with my cat?
  • Do I have time for obedience training?
  • If renting, does the landlord permit pets?
  • Is the backyard big enough and is the fencing secure?
  • Does the whole family want a pet?
  • Will the pet be allowed inside?
  • Will I have to move interstate or overseas in the foreseeable future?
  • Will I have to move to another rental property where the landlord may not allow pets.

Pets are a lifelong monetary commitment, you will need to factor in:

  • Weekly animal food bills and necessities
  • Yearly council registration
  • Monthly medications like heart worm/intestinal worm and flea treatments
  • Annual vet visits for vaccinations and check ups
  • Unexpected vet bills due to accidents or medical conditions
  • Ongoing grooming
  • Boarding fees for human holidays
  • Enrichment like training, toys etc
