Lort Smith Animal Hospital North Melbourne, is open every day 8.30am-7.00pm. However, we have staff caring for patients 24-hours a day.

Please note: We do not have the facilities to perform cat blood transfusions and may not have blood readily available for dog blood transfusions. 

Referring a Patient 

To refer a patient to Lort Smith Animal Hospital North Melbourne, please complete the webform below after speaking with a member of our team and provide your client with a copy of our Referring Vets Checklist. 

Fees and charges 

Part of our mission is to provide care for animals of people with limited means. However, we do not provide a free service and do require payment. 

  • 25% discount on all veterinary services* for Health Care Card holders and pensioners. 
  • 10% discount on all veterinary services* for Seniors Card holders. 

* Excludes microchips, medication, food and consumable products. 

We offer payment plans via our partner ‘Open Pay’ and a 50% deposit is required prior to admission and treatment commencing.
