All Lort Smith consultations require an appointment and due to our caseload there can be a wait of several days for some procedures. We are open every day from 8.30am-6.00pm. However, we have staff caring for patients 24-hours a day.

During emergency service hours we have a limited number of staff working. If you are considering sending a case for emergency surgery please ring ahead first to discuss the case and to ensure we can provide the adequate care needed. Phone 03 9328 3021.

Please note: We do not have the facilities to perform cat blood transfusions and may not have blood readily available for dog blood transfusions.

Fees and charges

Part of our mission is to provide care for animals of people with limited means. However, we do not provide a free service and do require payment.

  • 25% discount on all veterinary services* for Health Care Card holders and pensioners.
  • 10% discount on all veterinary services* for Seniors Card holders.

* Excludes microchips, medication, food and consumable products.

We also offer payment plans to customers who are experiencing financial hardship.
