CLINICAL SIGNS
Clinical signs occur from 30 minutes to 2 days.
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Lethargy
- Inappetance
- Yellow gums or skin (jaundice)
EFFECTS OF TOXICITY
The mechanism of toxicity is poorly understood, overdose may result in irreversible damage to the liver, kidneys, pancreas and muscle of the heart.
TREATMENT
Veterinary care may involve further decontamination (including administration of activated charcoal), as well as intravenous fluids and blood tests to monitor liver function. Drugs to protect liver function may be administered.
