WHAT IS IT?

Insulinoma is a common condition of middle-aged to older ferrets.

CLINICAL SIGNS

  • Seizures
  • Tremors
  • Lethargy
  • Disorientated
  • Ataxia

CAUSES

Insulinoma, Toxicity, Brain disease, Trauma

TREATMENT

  • Anti-seizure therapy (diazepam/midazolam)
  • Fluid therapy
  • Removal of pancreas or tumour
  • Likely needs further diagnostics (blood test, radiography, CT)
