Guinea Pig – Blood In Urine

WHAT TO DO

1. Seek veterinary treatment as soon as possible
2. Monitor that it is able to urinate

WHAT IS IT?

Could be a urinary tract infection, uroliths, tumour

CLINICAL SIGNS

• Blood in urine
• Pain when urinating
• Lethargy
• Not eating or drinking

CAUSES

• Cystitis, uroliths, blocked urethra, tumour

TREATMENT

• Antibiotics
• Urolith removal (will need sedation or surgery depending on where the urolith is)
